They are broken. Abandoned. Hurting. Crying out. Ignored.

How many people do we laugh with, smile at and talk with every day who are dying inside all while we are strangers to their suffering?

How can we possibly help them all?

How many kids walk my halls, sit in uncomfortably familiar chairs, open textbooks, ask me questions, learn from me, teach me...yet suffer with unseen needs that are never met?

How many walk among us?

When things become clear, hindsight is 20/20, but foresight is perpetually blind. There has to be a way. They rarely tell.

How do we know? How do we help? How do we heal? How do we grow? How do we evade disaster? Prevent tragedy? Project hope???

They walk among us, leave a legacy of destruction, and leave us to wonder how.
